Devotion to Saint Bernardino of Siena has always been very important for the territory of Bergamo. The saint, in fact, had come twice to Bergamo and had brought peace between the Guelph and Ghibelline families by stopping the internal struggles that from the thirteenth century lived the territory. This church dedicated to him stands out for its simplicity, rectangular plan with a single nave, divided by pilasters in four bays preceded by the compass in oak.
Exquisite is also the little historic center of Semonte, of XV century, grouped around Leone XIII square.
